Eddie’s got another job and the news of Sid and Jolene is starting to leak out …

Characters: Eddie, Edward, Jill, Jolene, Phil, Sid, William

• Phil and Jill, out walking, meet William, out working. He passes on the less than happy news of his miserable family, coping with their new lodgings. Later, on their way to dinner in Borchester, they bump into Eddie – celebrating the landing of a second job, delivering for a curry house. If Eddie is able to confront his troubles and move one, they reason, there’s no excuse for them not to.
• Sid’s turned up for another grouting and tiling session in Jolene’s bathroom – and even manages to finish the job, despite her attempts to side-track him. Kathy, he claims, isn’t interesting in knowing what she’s missing – but Jolene is happy not to have to miss it …
• Edward’s unhappiness plumbs such a low he arrives on William’s front door begging a bunk. After agreeing, William is rewarding with the gossip, via Fallon, that Jolene and Sid are having an affair …
