Emma and Nic have a public argument in The Bull and Brian decides to resign before the BL board can oust him.

Radio Times: Brian come to a decision. Nic loses her temper

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Will fixes Jennifer’s broken brake light. Brian has switched off his phone and everyone is contacting Jennifer instead. Jennifer wishes Will a happy birthday and he says he is going to the new Mexican restaurant in Felpersham: great burritos and music, too. After Will takes his leave, Jenny announces she and Brian will not be accused of having anything to be ashamed of by the likes of Kirsty Miller. Brian must change his trousers and then they are off to eat a meal at The Bull, over Brian’s protests. Brian facetiously agrees to go if Alan includes the whole village in his ‘no complaining’ pledge for Lent. Jenny retorts that he would be likely to raise quite a bit of money.
  • David is in The Bull under Ruth’s orders because he is too grumpy. Having to handle the lambing by himself is doing him in. Ruth and Josh were tied up with calving and Ben wasn’t cooperative but Eddie arrived in time to take over. Jolene suggests Toby might actually help. Jolene defends him to David; she thinks David is being too hard on the father of his grandchild. She tries to get David to agree to train him but David is worried about the hassle of trusting him. Jolene notes it would mean a lot to Toby-and to Pip.
  • Jennifer marches Brian into The Bull and Brian is relieved to see David’s car in the car park. At least there will be one friendly face. Jolene complains to Emma about taking the Valentine’s Day idea after Kenton had spent money on publicity. When Jolene steps away, Emma is spiteful to Nic over the incident. Will comes in and Emma lays into him, too. Nic argues back for once but takes it too far and there is a public slanging match. Jolene tells Nic to leave before her shift is over and she runs out in tears.
  • David must go back to lambing as soon as he is finished his pint and Brian finds a missed call when he turns his mobile back on. Justin has called and he tells Brian there is an emergency meeting of the BL board next week. David and Jennifer try to cheer him up but Brian is tired of battling. What is the point? For once, Brian is going to give them what they want; he plans to resign from the board.
