Fallon gets the job; she and Kenton plan a week’s handover then she becomes the new manager of Jaxx.

Radio Times: Don has made his decision and Hayley is getting hot under the collar.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • For Fallon, the waiting is over: she has been offered the job at Jaxx on a three month trial basis. Kenton is all for breaking out the champagne but Fallon wants quietly to tell her close friends first.
  • Dreading the prospect of James living at her workplace for months, Brenda is persuaded to put it out of her mind long enough to meet Tom for lunch in The Bull. He has his own preoccupation – some special food products for Christmas – about which he hopes to get her thoughts.
  • Rhys is one of the friends on Fallon’s list – quite near the top I would say. At first, her serious face gives him the wrong impression but when he knows about her success he congratulates her warmly. It’s not going to be the same at The Bull for him but of course he will still see her often.
  • For Hayley the waiting is not over: Duncan Simpson, the consultant, is due to interview her today but already it is time to collect Abbie. She is clearly very worried about her job – and Roy’s – and is therefore desperate not to give a bad impression by being absent when he calls. Could Brenda collect Abbie and deliver her to Lower Loxley – please? Brenda does not want to be caught ‘skiving’ either but she agrees to do it.
