Radio Times: There is an unexpected boost in business at the Bull, and Kenton faces an ordeal.

  • If it’s Shrove Tuesday it must be fun and games at The Bull, and this year does not disappoint. Kenton samples the revolting pancake toppings and Jolene moans about the funny tasting orange water.
  • Fallon has some news to impart; she and Rhys are no longer an item, and he is off to manage his uncle’s bar in Cardiff. She wants to move back to The Bull until he leaves, then, should Hazel Woolley agree, to take on the lease of the now very tiny flat. As Fallon admits to Shula later, she is restless. Maybe this was the wake-up call she needed. Meanwhile she will help Dan organise an event for Sport Relief. Ambridge is never without an organised event, it seems.
  • Kenton rings the water board and is told not to drink the water. A main has burst because of flooding. At least that will swell the profits at The Bull tonight.
  • Alan calls at the shop to be told about the water crisis. He is galvanised into action, ably assisted by Shula, who is checking on the vulnerable of Ambridge while Alan heads off to buy gallons of bottled water. At least a bowser will be there in the morning.
  • The pancake contest is over and Kenton reveals the winners. Nic made the nicest pancake and Dan the nastiest – even nastier than Jazzer’s haggis topped one. Shrove Tuesday at The Bull has triumphed again.
