Feelings run high as Lynda makes a discovery at the bird hide. Feelings run higher on the BL board. Feelings are very high as the F and P show draws near.

Radio Times: There’s something nasty in the bird hide at Arkwright Lake, and Brian has cold comfort for the BL board.

  • As Lynda walks Scruff, she meets Clarrie, who is eager to spread the news that Kenton has left Kathy. Kathy is a wronged woman in Clarrie’s eyes, and Lynda says she’ll call to offer comfort.
  • Joe’s appointment as Flower and Produce show judge has gone to his head – or maybe his feet – and has done little to improve his relationship with Bert, who sullenly reminds Joe that he’ll need to be absolutely scrupulous in his judging. They don’t want undeserving winners!
  • Brian chairs a lively meeting of the BL board, at which the problem of Matt’s ownership of the access strip is discussed. Brian thinks they should try to call Matt’s bluff. But the appointment of Lilian to the board is another matter; she would just be Matt’s mouthpiece. Andrew is worried that the whole market plan could be scuppered if they don’t buy Matt out. Brian advises playing a waiting game.
  • As she walks near Arkwright Lake, Lynda makes a discovery; the bird hide has been the scene of drunken teenage revelry. Helped by Bert, Lynda clears up the cans and cigarette ends. Clarrie comments that that’s just teenagers. With her signature sniff, Lynda retorts that she blames the parents.
