  • Lynda asks Harrison for help in breaking down cardboard and she mentions the news about Kirsty. In return, Harrison admits that he has come to ask Lynda’s help. He wants her advice in getting the village on board with his ambitions for Ambridge cricket. Lynda isn’t an expert on sport but she can help with leadership tips and explaining change to people in a way that gains their support. Ensure that a few individuals are on Harrison’s side before a meeting and adequate food and drink always aids cooperation. Harrison is grateful for the advice.
  • Anisha tells Alistair that she dropped into Fallon’s anti-Valentine’s night but she left early because she was on call. Mr. Hodge calls to report a cow with mastitis but he wants Alistair and not Anisha. Alistair thinks this is out of order but before he can continue, Harrison knocks.
  • Eddie brings a trailer back to Pip and takes the opportunity to ask her how much B&Bs charge in the Ambridge area. Pip doesn’t know but suggests that Eddie check the Village Hall website. Pip has a friend who charges about £30 for an extra room but he does it all online. It’s easy money, declares Pip, to an eager Eddie. Josh turns up and wants a favour; can Pip help with staking up a fence? Josh offers to do a milking shift in return.
  • Harrison explains his cricket revamp to Alistair. He wants to include women and Alistair is supportive. He tried it before but it was voted down. Alistair suggests lining up a few female players first; Pip or Alice might be a good place to start. Anisha comes back in and Alistair wants to call Terry Hodge and tell him that Anisha is coming out. They must decide what sort of practice they want. If Hodge decides to call someone else, Anisha and Alistair will survive.
  • Lynda is unhappy with all the maintenance demands of Ambridge Hall. Eddie discreetly asks about the pressures of running a B&Bs. She must make a lot of money. Well, Lynda replies, they have regulars who appreciate their service and their use of the finest local produce. Joe interrupts to ask for a cup of tea and when Lynda leaves, Joe is critical of Eddie’s ambitions. He doesn’t want strangers staring at him over breakfast and Clarrie isn’t keen. Eddie argues that they are sitting on a gold mine and they just have to convince Clarrie.
  • Harrison approaches Pip to ask her about his cricket idea. After using the wrong approach with words such as ‘fit’ and ‘physical’ Harrison finally settles on ‘sporty’. Pip protests she is too busy. Harrison sadly reports that Alice has also turned him down and without women, he doesn’t think there is a future for cricket in Ambridge.
