Hayley faces some hard questions. Rob is finally accepted by Pat and Tony.
Radio Times: Hayley asks some difficult questions. Meanwhile, Rob comes for lunch.
Characters: Fallon, Hayley, Pat, Rob, Roy, Tony- Hayley reminds Roy about Abbie’s play but he is preoccupied with problems at work. In Jaxx, Hayley despairs upon hearing more about Loxfest from Fallon.
- Pat discusses grandson Rich’s 16th birthday with Tony. She notes that she has chosen a neutral card with no mention of forebears but she did pop £50 into the card. Rob turns up with Henry. Pat and Tony are very cordial and even invite him to lunch. Rob is caught unawares but he accepts.
- Fallon dismisses the importance of her job loss at Jaxx in conversation with Hayley. She seems content with the enforced change. Hayley mentions Harrison Burns in favourable terms and Fallon admits she LIKES him! When pressed, Fallon expresses concern about Harrison being ‘settled’. Fallon has always gravitated toward the bad boys but she admires Hayley for being so happy with Roy. Hayley is a bit ambivalent but notes she ‘can always depend on him’.
- Rob, to the surprise of all involved, establishes common ground with Pat and Tony. There is the obligatory reference to Jennifer’s party but this creates an awkward reference to Friday’s disaster.
- On the phone, Roy and Hayley have a set to about Roy’s job pressures making him late for Abbie’s performance. Hayley hotly retorts that he shouldn’t bother coming.
- When Roy arrives home after missing Abbie’s public debut as a giraffe, Hayley is close mouthed except to mention that his dinner is in the oven. Roy tries to discuss all his issues at work but Hayley replies that Abbie is upset. Vicky has Mike to take care of and Hayley can’t handle all the holidays on her own. Hayley notes that Elizabeth is working Roy too hard. He lashes out. Hayley tries to uncover the root of the problem. She wants the truth.
