Helen agrees to be Kirsty’s bridesmaid and Kirsty and Tom decide to hold the wedding at Bridge Farm to build bridges.
Radio Times: Kirsty has a favour to ask, and Susan is making excuses.
Characters: Helen, Kirsty, Pat, Susan, Tom- Susan can’t stop talking about her holiday but she insists on pointing out to everyone who will listen that they can only afford it because they have “saved up for so long” and it is their 30th wedding anniversary after all. Susan makes a few remarks about Alice not getting anything from Peggy but Pat firmly says it’s nothing to do with her.
- Helen asks Pat how Peggy was about her and Rob and Pat points out it was Jennifer who spilled the beans rather than her.
- Kirsty admits she really wants Helen to be a bridesmaid. Tom thinks it’s a great idea but Kirsty isn’t so sure. Still, she’ll ask and see what Helen says. They still don’t have a venue though. Tom wants it to be really special.
- Kirsty randomly chooses to ask Helen to be a bridesmaid (and Henry to be a page boy) while Helen is driving on the Borchester by pass. Helen manages not to crash the car and is thrilled to be asked. Helen will have to help her with the dress. Tom is so determined to have a full on white wedding.
- Tom is puzzled why Susan is so insistent on telling him how they’ve saved up for the holiday. He hadn’t even considered it before. While they are talking Helen calls still very thrilled about being a bridesmaid and Henry is also really excited – especially if he had to carry a train! After the call, Kirsty suggests they should have the wedding in a marquee at Bridge Farm to make Pat and Tony feel more involved. Tom thinks it would be a good idea too – might stop things being so strained. Tom tries to explain how Tony feels. And so he’s all for it.
