  • Helen is in a hurry, so cuts Susan short when she asks Helen to look at her now-framed photos. It falls to Jim to come up with the right comments, but he is at a loss when he notices Susan’s new figure-hugging tabard. She has become more conscious of her image since the photo shoot.
  • Helen has discovered from Roy that Kirsty is on her way to the country park, so dashes off to find her. Kirsty is less than pleased, and ungraciously (if understandably) says Helen can come too since they live in a free country
  • Johnny buys cans of beer at the shop, and manages to offend Susan with his comments on the figure-hugging tabard. He says untruthfully they are not for under-age Freddie. Freddie has told Elizabeth he got a C in his Maths re-sit; how can he now tell her the truth? Johnny can think only of the party at Lower Loxley. Freddie fails to share his enthusiasm.
  • Finally wearing Kirsty down, Helen manages to get her to talk about the baby. Her parents think it was the result of a one-night stand; she will tell them the truth once it’s born. Helen assures her that she will always be there for Kirsty and swears to keep it all a secret.
