  • Rob surprises Helen for her birthday with breakfast in bed. He has also taken care of Henry but he must be off for work soon. Helen comments that Rob was restless last night; was it bad dreams? Rob denies any worries. Henry comes in with his surprise for Helen.
  • Tom serves samples of his sausages to Jolene. She loves them and buys some as a special treat for Kenton who is worried with ‘family things’. Susan notes that the samples bring in a better sort of customer. Tom asks Helen for a private talk later.
  • Kenton describes Lilian’s face as startling but declares she doesn’t look younger. He notes that the Botox injections aren’t even a proper facelift. Jolene quickly responds that no one around here has had a facelift. Hmmm. Kenton also gets in a few kicks toward David and declares that he doesn’t give a fig about the barn dance.
  • Tom tells Helen that he thinks it would be better to close Ambridge Organics and re-open their own farm shop, currently being a temporary home for the village shop. When it is re-established, there would be lower overheads and few drawbacks. Helen is inclined to agree but says she will have to discuss it with Rob.
  • Back at The Bull, Jolene is happy that Fallon managed to save the big screen telly. Rob is a rugger fan and doesn’t react with the excitement that Kenton expects. Jolene suggests to Kenton that they consider debt consolidation; Kenton refuses and declares he will work harder. He’ll show Ruth and David that they don’t need David’s dirty money. Helen talks to Rob about closing the organics shop. Rob agrees with the closing but vehemently reacts to re-opening a family shop at Bridge Farm. He wants her out of the business altogether. Helen takes the blame upon herself; she shouldn’t have sprung this on him. She also notes that Rob is anxious about the DNA test. Helen reassures Rob that all is over now; he need never think about it again. Rob isn’t so sure.
