  • There’s never a dull moment when you run a pub; Jolene is keeping Kenton’s nose to the grindstone. He is rather sceptical when she shows him the flyers for her singles night on Valentine’s Day – to be run in parallel with the romantic dinners.
  • Jill is helping Peggy sort out Jack’s clothes. Peggy discusses the situation with Tony; Jill understands that Tony might feel put out about her will. The only suit that doesn’t find a home is the dinner jacket.
  • She took a bit of persuading but Kirsty has come to see Helen at Blossom Hill Cottage, safe in the knowledge that Rob will be late back from his meeting in Essex. Top of the agenda is the selection of a wedding dress. Kirsty panics when the doorbell rings, thinking it is Rob. It’s not. It’s Peggy offering the dinner jacket for Rob – how lovely – so kind. Peggy does admit that Brian had turned it down as being too old-fashioned.
  • Kirsty’s flight instinct in response to the doorbell leads to a discussion about her attitude to Rob. It’s only because she cares about Helen and doesn’t want to see her hurt. Helen needs somebody on her side, given the situation with her parents, so Kirsty agrees to try to like Rob, though it may take a while. A phone call brings disappointment for Helen: Rob’s meeting has only just finished and he is too tired to drive home tonight. He will come home in the morning and they have the whole weekend to look forward to.
