  • As they wait to begin hauling grain, Johnny cannot resist teasing Josh about his pricey eggs. It’s Johnny’s 18th next week; Josh is not impressed by his plans for just a drink at The Bull. True to the Brazilian theme, Kenton is holding an Olympic quiz and Johnny hopes to invite a girl from college. Come on Adam. Josh insists on exploring the combine cab – and starting it up, just as Adam arrives. Did he notice?
  • It would have made a lovely photo – Scruff with the llamas – but there is no camera handy. Lynda intends doing some gardening later, and she plans to use her new freedom to explore the Borchester jigsaw club. She fancies a trip to Glyndebourne; she would surely appreciate it more than Lilian – who is going.
  • Anna calls on Ian to ask him to be a character witness. He and Helen were very good friends until Rob burst onto the scene. Helen pulled back; to an extent that was to be expected but they lost the whole friendship. They had a huge falling out – the reason is not relevant. When Helen was arrested, he felt helpless; he wanted to reach out but thought it would be unwelcome. So he was surprised about being asked to be a character witness. He doesn’t need to think about it; he will do it. If he would like to write a letter, Anna is sure that Helen would love to hear from him.
  • Taking a break from gardening, Lynda can’t settle. She denies being restless and turns down Robert’s idea that she should be the new Tree Warden. Hearing of all the troubles with the fete, she cannot resist a touch of Schadenfreude.
