It is clear that Elizabeth will never forgive David.

Radio Times: Elizabeth refuses to be placated, and Neil is feeling his age.

  • Elizabeth is still lashing out at all and sundry; she threatens to call one of her staff on his day off to get him in to fix a small problem but Kenton persuades her that would be a bad idea. He is less successful getting Elizabeth to talk about David; he is concerned about both of them but Elizabeth simply refuses to discuss it. She never wants anything to do with David again.
  • Neil is going to have a birthday party whether he likes it or not – not, actually. He is, however, keen to prove his prowess on the cricket field by winning the single wicket competition; maybe Christopher will help with some extra practice sessions.
  • Jolene has had a visit from Kathy; she expected Jolene’s support over temporarily stopping Jamie working at The Bull but, predictably, Jamie hadn’t mentioned it. Jolene has some sympathy for Kathy’s aims and will reduce Jamie’s hours a bit.
  • As she tells Neil, when Susan was working with Clarrie in the dairy a remark slipped out about William’s parental ambition and Nic’s reaction to it. It’s all in the strictest confidence, of course, so Susan has only told Neil – and Emma.
  • Jill is going out for lunch with Elizabeth and the children but first she wants a word – no prizes for working out what about! David is in a terrible state but Elizabeth doesn’t want to know. Nigel’s death was a tragic meaningless accident. That’s not how Elizabeth sees it: David destroyed her family and nobody, not even mum, can tell her differently.
