Characters: , , , , ,
  • Elizabeth asks Roy into the office for a private conversation. She tells him their present situation is impossible. Freddie and Lily are very upset, and she can see no future in their relationship. Roy refuses to accept this and keeps declaring his love for Elizabeth, who somewhat unwisely claims that Roy is ‘precious’ to her. Elizabeth tries to make him see her point of view, but Roy still refuses to accept that their relationship is over.
  • Ed is furious, having heard about Mike selling up from Jazzer. Eddie tries to calm him down and to see the positives in the situation, but Ed can see only ruin for his business. When Eddie talks about Johnny’s interest in the turkeys, Ed barely listens.
  • Elizabeth tells Roy she has asked Geraldine to take on some of his work so that he can take time out to look for other jobs. A stunned Roy asks if she is sacking him. Elizabeth denies this, but tells him to take the day off.
  • Ed has it out with Mike, who claims he ‘meant’ to tell Ed but ‘forgot’. Mike is ‘sure’ that someone will buy the business. What about Vicky’s share of the herd? asks Ed. Airily Mike says they can be part of the package when he sells up. Whatever Ed says, he and Vicky are leaving Ambridge. Vicky has her heart set on it.
  • Hayley is surprised to see Roy home, and quickly realises something is wrong, though he denies it. She tries to probe, but all Roy will say is that he and Elizabeth fail to see eye to eye about the future of Lower Loxley. Hayley is not convinced, and eventually Roy admits Elizabeth is ‘letting him go.’ A stunned Hayley asks what will happen to her job. Roy has no idea – they will work something out. Meanwhile it’s time to move on from Lower Loxley.
