Jennifer is thrilled that Justin has settled on Lilian but Lilian doesn’t sound so convinced. Usha joins the cricket team.

Radio Times: Lilian has some news, and Usha shakes things up.

Characters: Harrison, Jennifer, Johnny, Justin, Lilian, Lily, Usha

• Justin is feeling much more relaxed now he doesn’t have to go back to London. He assumes that Lilian will now move in with him but she still wonders if he’s sure. He says of course, isn’t that what she wants? No more sneaking around. Lilian thought that that was part of the excitement. Justin tells her there will be plenty of that. Still, she insists on going back to Home Farm at least in the short term. She obviously isn’t completely convinced though he tells her she can tell Brian and Jennifer.
• Harrison holds the first mixed nets for the cricket team. Johnny is a bit doubtful about Molly. He has been trying to help Lily though. Johnny says Will is still very doubtful. Harrison suggests they should all head to the pub afterwards to get to know each other better. It seems that some of the men are being too gentle with the women.
• Jennifer is muttering about aqua fit classes when Lilian says she has some news. Lilian says that Justin has chosen her over Miranda but she obviously isn’t at all happy.
• In the pub, Lily tells Usha about nets. She is finding it hard. She only did it to wind Freddie up and she can’t give up now. But if it doesn’t get better soon she will quit. Even in the pub there is a bit of a clique. It’s like they are talking a different language. Usha says it’s time to storm the barricades. She forces them a space at the cricket table and calls Molly over too.
• Talking to Harrison later he admits that he is struggling. Especially now Anisha has to head up to Glasgow where her mother has had an accident. Usha tells Harrison she’ll be along to the next nets. Harrison is surprised but pleased.
• Jennifer presses Lilian again if she is happy about the situation. Lilian still sounds doubtful Jennifer says she shouldn’t undersell herself. She is a much better match for him than Miranda. Lilian probably agrees with that but she wonders if she will lose what they once had. Jennifer says it will be marvellous to have them as a proper couple. Lilian tries to say determinedly that she is incredibly lucky but still not convinced.
