  • As the grand opening of Jennifer’s kitchen gets underway, she is at her most pretentious, offering her guests what she claims to be simple little items. Carol manages to cut Jennifer down to size by reminding her that the inspiration came from a book. Jennifer tries in vain to deny it.
  • Susan’s new look causes much comment from male and female alike. Carol is again a rational voice, saying she admires Susan for taking a risk and shaking Ambridge up.
  • Harrison Burns is surprised to find Fallon in the pub where he has arranged to meet Jazzer, and even more surprised to learn that Fallon was also expecting to meet him. Fallon says that is typical of Jazzer, arranging to meet someone then bringing his mates along. She will buy her own drink and go home once he shows up.
  • Peggy decides to leave the party early, but is surprised when Carol says she will pick her up early tomorrow. She will take Peggy to the stone mason, where they will choose a headstone to Peggy’s taste, not Hazel’s. Peggy is initially uncertain, but Carol soon persuades her that it will be worthy of Jack. Peggy is overcome with gratitude.
  • Fallon and Harrison hit it off, laughing about their respective pasts, and when Jazzer texts them both to say he will not be coming, they decide to make a night of it together.
