  • Jennifer seems relieved that several members of the Book Club have cried off at the last minute, and gamely tries to divert those who do turn up from discussing the torrid affair of ‘Ginny’s’ husband ‘Byron.’ Usha and Jim, seemingly unaware of the fact that the book is all about Brian and Mandy, prattle on, but Pat and Susan comes to Jennifer’s aid. To Pat’s relief, the meeting finally draws to a close, and Susan offers to choose the book for the next meeting.
  • Ed rings Oliver and asks to see him. When he arrives, Ed tells Oliver how difficult he is finding life with a small baby in the house, and apologises for having been short with Oliver. An understanding (and bored) Oliver is only too pleased to offer some help. He will start milking at the end of the week. Ed is hugely relieved.
