Joe cuts a dash
Radio Times: Joe cuts a dash
Characters: Alistair, Bert, Brian, Jack, Jennifer, Joe, Shula, Sid- Alistair’s at Grange Farm to look at some cows with milk fever, with Joe taking the opportunity to bend his ear about his new role as cricket club captain. Joe declines to have Alistair look at the pecked turkeys, not want to drive the bill up – although conceding that now it’s “his turn”, he’ll need more money for the wedding. When Joe explains that it’s probably lucky that the village doesn’t have a dentist, what with Shula having ditched the doctor and now the vet …. Alistair explodes and gives Joe the mouthful he probably deserves.
- Choosing and fitting is ongoing for the fashion show and Jack’s found a suit he likes – although Bert’s not sure it fits him, but that’s academic as Joe tries it on and fits him like a glove. Bert, against his better judgement, is trying on a pyjama/dressing gown combination and the concensus is that he looks very stylish – only he’s worried about the slightly risky business of walking without, er, buttons and might need to stitch things up ahead of the parade.
- It seems that Jack’s idea for the resolution of the captaincy issue was to make Sid the team manager, Ambridge’s David Lloyd, although without the mouth, it’s hoped.
- Brian’s playing the doting grandad, but is not happy as both David and Tony have been round to tell him what they think of his expansion plans – views he probably shares.
- Shula’s still not convinced that Jill’s pleased about the wedding and is starting to wonder what else she can do.
