  • Many hands make light work – sometimes! Clarrie has both Nic and Emma helping her do the church flowers. Nic has the right idea but Emma soon gives up in disgust and is delegated to floor sweeping. Not in the best of tempers, she takes Nic to task for introducing George to church without her permission.
  • Ed has rescued the situation with Jamie caused by Jazzer’s poor man management: they will pay Jamie for the two day shearing job but he will do a smaller job with them on Monday for nothing – as training. Ed is surprised when Jazzer gets a call from Clarrie but he is in a public place so can’t talk about you-know-what; he invites himself for tea. Artful!
  • Lilian explains to Jolene the dilemma she now has. Matt really wants her to go to the funeral. But she did once meet Celia, Paul’s ex-wife, so she fears it will all come out. Jolene has a plan: agree to go, travel to the funeral but then bail out, pleading that she doesn’t want to intrude; it’s the best Jolene can come up with (short of making a clean breast of the affair!).
  • Only this morning Clarrie had a new idea for their arrangement, white roses on an old milk churn; now Jazzer tells her and Nic that Christine is using white roses too. As he tucks in to chicken followed by treacle pudding, a torrent of information comes forth – certainly a torrent compared to what he appeared to get out of Christine a couple of days ago; that she is using fairy lights pushes credibility to the limit. No doubt he will exploit this situation again but beware the wrath of Clarrie when she discovers the truth of it.
