Josh annoys David and Rex with his new obsession while Tom seeks another source of comfort.

Radio Times: Ruth lends an ear, and Josh only has one focus.

Characters: , , , ,
  • All Josh can think about is his new business. Having sold Adam’s plough, he hurries to show Ruth the website, ignoring David’s pleas for help with the sheep. Ruth takes his side when David moans about having to employ Eddie in place of Josh and Ben’s total lack of interest. Lily could teach them a lesson; she sent Lynda some flowers after her near-miss while out driving.
  • David is not the only one to be annoyed with Josh; Rex has been left to collect eggs by himself. Josh assures him that money will be forthcoming for his help with the machinery website, but can’t say when that will be.
  • The ever-dismal Tom calls on Ruth to ask for details of a Russian Red Kale producer. Ruth is surprised that he can think about veg boxes when he is off to Brazil tomorrow. Dolefully Tom explains his recent decision. Ruth moves effortlessly into her breathy caring voice, telling him that she will never get over losing a baby, which will surely be an immense comfort to Tom. But since Nuffield have not replaced Tom on the scheme, maybe he could reconsider. Keeping busy is the best way to cope, as Kirsty has found.
  • Anisha has a long lunch with the stud owner and is surprised when her taxi-driver turns out to be Rex, who needs the money. They tease one another about cricket, though with three women now interested, a mixed team look more of a possibility.
