Kenton gets the bad news in a less than ideal way. Jennifer is pushed towards Hungary.
Radio Times: Kenton’s star is on the wane.
Characters: Alistair, Eddie, Jennifer, Kenton, Lynda, Mike, Peggy- Jennifer is making an off-the-rota visit to The Lodge because Tony can’t come. However, she finds everything in order, due in no small part to Jill, who has been visiting. So she is encouraged to go and look after her own family but she may stay for tea and a chat, although she is blissfully unaware of Peggy’s agenda.
- The cast are assembling for the first panto rehearsal and wondering why David has been seen in the car park. Alistair knows, and he wrongly assumes that Kenton does too. Having just praised Lynda for ‘thinking outside the box’, Kenton now needs to rethink that view. Lynda is apologetic about the way Kenton learnt of the change but the top and bottom of it is he can play the giant’s cook or nothing. Alistair, also apologetic, reckons Kenton and David will be the Morecombe and Wise of Ambridge.
- Peggy is surprisingly up to date about Tom’s bacon venture and very curious about Debbie’s boyfriend. Surely Jennifer should have met him by now! When Jennifer reveals that she has been invited to Hungary, a ‘surprised’ Peggy pushes her very hard to go. Ruairidh will be fine with Brian, Adam and Ian to spoil him and she would be very cross if Jennifer used her as an excuse not to go.
- Kenton is still sore and very critical of Mike’s treatment of Dame Trott. But with a bit of encouragement from Alistair he begins to warm to the new task; he will knock their socks off!
