Kenton’s a fool. Peggy wants to talk bangers with Brian.

Radio Times: It’s April Fool’s Day and the joke is on Kenton.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Kenton’s off to get his “Lucky in every endeavour” tattoo. He’ll pop back to show it off to Kathy and Lorna later.
  • Tony says there’s one person Tom hasn’t asked yet about a loan, and Peggy would be hurt if Tom’s business suffered and she hadn’t been asked. Tom explains to Peggy that Matt was going to invest so he could buy Brian out, but that’s now fallen through. She wants more detail as to why.
  • Kenton’s back, having suffered for art. As luck would have it, Lorna reads a bit of Cantonese having taught English in Hong Kong for a while. She’s puzzled why Kenton wants “Closed for cleaning” as a tattoo. You must be rusty, says Kenton, I got the design off the Internet. No, it’s a common sign; the Chinese are very hygienic. Finally, Kathy points out he’s a fool for getting it done, and a fool for not noticing the date.
  • Tom explains Brian suggested a deal with a supermarket, Tom said no, but Brian pushed ahead, expecting to railroad Tom into it. Tom said he wouldn’t play ball and then Matt called with his offer. Tom said he’d buy Brian out, so Brian cancelled the supermarket deal, and now wants his substantial financial stake back. Peggy says they’ll both have to wait a bit longer. She wants to talk to Brian first!
