  • Ed and Pip discuss the future of farming, in particular, Pip’s trip to Brazil and all the progressive ideas she will come back with. With Ruth and David still away, Ed shows an interest in the cows and asks to come over to look at one currently in calf. Pip will miss the cows and is also missing the time she thought she’d have with her parents before going away.
  • Jolene admonishes Kenton for wearing a two day old shirt which he also slept in. He’s drinking heavily and she shares her concerns about his low mood, with Lynda Snell, who offers Feng shui as a potential solution. Somehow, Jolene does not think this will help.
  • Toby tells Pip about the good time he had at the Game Fair. He invites her for a drink tonight, however, she has other plans and needs to meet with David on his return from Prudhoe to discuss the plans she’s drawn up for the new trackway layout.
  • Lynda reports back to Robert about her visit to the Bridge Farm shop. In a bid to avoid being further drawn in to Susan’s promotion of the tabards, she engaged Helen in conversation who revealed rather too much intimate detail about married life. It was like jumping from the frying pan into the fire!
  • With the gardening finished, Robert and Lynda head to The Bull for a well-earned drink. Robert receives a frosty reception from Kenton, who cannot pull himself out of the doldrums, even in front of customers. Whilst sitting in the beer garden, Lynda spots a notice on the door of the village shop. Curiosity gets the better of her and she and Robert go to look. It’s a planning application for apartments – with Hazel Woolley’s stamp all over it. Will the flood’s repercussions never end?
