Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Ruth is concerned when she finds David fixing the calf shed at 5.30 am. But David has an idea; they will buy Pip a car for her birthday. After all, she deserves it.
  • Jill and Shula sample the Bull breakfast and are impressed. Kenton comments that he enjoys working with Jolene. They are all concerned about David as well as Elizabeth. Both of them are driven and neither will delegate work.
  • Kenton finds David in a foul temper, looking for antique silver trays. He shouts at Kenton, whose offer of help is again rejected. But eventually David admits that he is way out of his depth, but wants to get things right for Nigel.
  • Jill tries again to get Elizabeth to find a manager, but she says she simply could not bear to see someone else in Nigel’s chair. Jill insists that the twins are her priority. But work and her responsibility to the staff is keeping Elizabeth going. As the conversation becomes tense, Helen appears with Henry. Elizabeth is delighted, and they happily talk about Nigel’s joy when the twins were tiny.
  • David finds Nigel’s gorilla suit as he continues his hunt for trays. He and Kenton reflect on the fun they had with Nigel, and a calmer David apologises for his outburst. Kenton suggests asking the orchestra for contact details of pianists, solving that problem. David finally realises that Kenton will make a much better job of coordinating the wedding, and hands it over to him just as the bride’s mother rings him yet again. Kenton’s smooth talking soon has her sorted.
