Radio Times: Tom and David have a royal old time.

Characters: Brenda, David, Kirsty, Ruth, Sam, Tom

• Ruth and Sam are looking forward to a day at the Royal Show. Ruth laughs because David’s feeling his age and can’t wait to get back to his own bed. When Kirsty arrives, having got the day off from Ambridge Organics, Sam seems less than overjoyed.
• At the Show, Tom and Brenda are doing a good trade, helped by David, though Tom’s thoughts are on watching the match later on.
• As Ruth, Sam and Kirsty arrive at the Show, Kirsty suggests to Sam that they give Ruth and David some time together. Sam doesn’t seem all that keen, and when Ruth and David arrive at the cattle lines, Sam and Ruth are soon deep in discussion about the various breeds’ finer points. Kirsty’s attempts to join the conversation are ignored.
• David buys Kirsty a coffee, and she tells him how well things are going with Sam. They’re off for two weeks to Gozo, and she says that for the first time in any relationship, she feels she knows where it’s going. She’s making plans for the future.
