Lilian and Paul agree that their affair must end.
Radio Times: Lilian is in trouble and Tom is overloaded.
Characters: Brenda, Kenton, Lilian, Matt, Paul, Tom, Vicky- What a tangled web of lies Lilian has spun – and it’s getting harder to sustain. Matt’s interrogation is relentless; he is especially annoyed because she missed a dinner with business colleagues and he doesn’t think her apology is sincere. He is stung by Lilian’s barbed comment that going solo doesn’t usually bother him; he deems it unworthy of a reply.
- Brenda is as besotted with her new half-sister as are the rest of the family. Vicky expresses her appreciation of Brenda’s support at the birth and for encouraging Amy to visit. That has eased Vicky’s worries and she is glad too that the midwife will visit every day for the first week after she and the baby come home tomorrow, when baby-care begins for real!
- Tom’s day started at 5am; now at The Bull, he delivers vital provisions for Farmhouse Breakfast Week, with a plea to have some of his business cards on hand for the punters. Kenton is also planning to post pictures on Twitter, an initiative of which Tom approves. Jaxx is Tom’s next stop, where Fallon has similar breakfast plans.
- Lilian describes to Paul how difficult it has been. Matt went on and on; it’s made Lilian feels so guilty about everything. Paul seeks to take the blame upon himself but Lilian protests that she wanted it too. All these lies, one leading to another – she can’t go on with them. A tearful Paul realises that he can’t make her go through any more of the deception, so he must let her go. Bye. She has only seconds to compose herself before Matt intrudes on her stolen privacy.
