Lizzie’s disappointed at not going home for Christmas, but they’ll make the best of it!

Radio Times: Will Elizabeth be home for Christmas.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Bert and David are contributing to the village’s bonfire with some of Brookfield’s burnable rubbish. Bert and Freda are planning a quiet Christmas in the bungalow – their son and family are visiting. David and Ruth, though, are off to her parents on Christmas Eve, a crazily long drive! David runs off to collect the fireworks and visit his still hospitalised sister (and neice and nephew).
  • Meanwhile at Hollertree, Phil, Jill and Ruth are admiring four new gilts – the start of a new era for the Brookfield piggery.
  • Fingers crossed at the hospital, Lizzie’s feeling better (and the twins are fine) but there are still question marks over her heart and the news is not good. The consultant would rather keep her in a little while longer – with the probability of needing to replace the leaky valve in the next few months. She’s terribly disappointed, but if she can’t have Christmas at home then her parents promise to bring Christmas to her bedside!
