  • Jill calls at Grey Gables to pick up cakes for the over-60’s party to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. She and Caroline laugh about Lynda’s military approach to organising the event. Shula arrives to see Caroline, and snaps at Jill when she asks if Shula is feeling all right.
  • Clarrie and the other helpers are bossed around by Lynda, who has grand ideas of streaming video clips of the party on her website. Ed arrives to bring some food, and comes in for his share of being ordered about. When people ask how Emma is, he tells them bluntly that she’s not having a good week with George away.
  • Caroline tells Shula the good news about the Bull, but seeing that Shula is upset, orders lunch for two in her office, so they can talk. Shula tells her about Alistair’s outburst over the car, and how Daniel caught the full force of it. She can’t take Alistair’s mood swings, but blames herself; she should have seen it coming, and now there’s nothing left between them. And even worse, she’s depriving Daniel of a father for the second time.
  • Lynda brings out champagne for her helpers, but when she enquires after Emma, Ed gives her the full force; Emma’s feeling terrible, she can’t sleep and they are never going to let Will take George away again. He goes off to work, but Clarrie follows him and tries to make Ed see William’s side of things. Ed won’t listen. He blames Clarrie and Susan for stopping them seeing a solicitor at the start, and they are determined to see one now. Will enjoys making Emma suffer, and Ed intends to put a stop to it for good.
