  • Matt has a meeting with Latif Hussein who is the top name in breeding stock of the racing world and Matt talks big in terms of investments. Matt also drops Brian’s name but Latif mentions that he has heard about Matt’s prison term along with his dodgy dealings in the past. Matt tries to convince him that all that is in the past. Latif asks about investing, but Matt declares his investment consortium is oversubscribed and they are not accepting new money but one never knows about future opportunities. Shouldn’t Latif be too experienced to fall for this con?
  • Lily runs into Harrison and Usha on her way to retake the written portion of her licence. Usha gives Lily words of confidence before sending her on her way. Usha advises Harrison to leave Pip alone for now because of the work on Brookfield.
  • Shula asks after Anisha’s parents and finds they are doing well. Matt arrives to talk to Anisha and he brags to Anisha that he had lunch with Latif. Matt dangles the possibility of becoming Latif’s new vet in front of Anisha. In return, Matt wants some new pre-purchase exams on horses from Anisha. Anisha is very excited but Alistair is reserved.
  • Lily passes her exam but Harrison is still worried about Will missing so many practices. Will isn’t happy about women on the team and has said some ugly things about them holding the team back. Usha took it upon herself to persuade Will to come to practices, though, and Harrison admires Usha’s persuasive abilities. Anisha shows up late and Harrison is a bit hard on her. He wants to keep team discipline. Usha urges him to be positive about Will’s turnaround; she feels she can convince him to change. Usha confides that she hates losing and will do everything to make the cricket team successful.
  • Alistair wonders what Matt is up to but Shula cautions him to remain open to anything that will help the practice. Anisha is optimistic but Alistair thinks that there is a bad smell around anything Matt Crawford proposes, especially when it comes to horses and the world of racing.
