Radio Times: Joe and Eddie try their hand at horror.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Lilian is waiting for Jennifer so they can take Jack to see Peggy. She shows Jack his wedding photos, and suggests taking them to show Peggy. Matt arrives home, and his cheerful approach goes down well with Jack. Lilian says Jack could be admitted as an emergency, according to his psychiatric nurse, but she’s ruled that out. Matt tells her he’s got an idea.
  • Eddie and Joe are delighted because Oliver has given them his apples to make cider. Eddie comments that Nic has been texting Will, and when Joe shows some sympathy for Nic’s predicament when she was trying to cope at Casa Nueva, Eddie admits they might have been wrong to see her as a trouble-maker.
  • Jennifer arrives from the burial service for the Ambridge Civil War soldier, and graciously acknowledges all that Matt has done. Lilian then tells her even more; Matt has found the perfect place for Jack – a very nice nursing home, which has a vacancy. The manageress, Diane, will come to meet and assess Jack. They agree not to tell Peggy until it’s settled.
  • Eddie and Joe are planning a Hallowe’en ghost walk, ending with soup, rolls and Grundy cider. They’re sure it will make lots of money.
  • Peggy continues to improve, though her sight is still affected, and she’s been told she can’t drive. Jack says he’ll do it for her. Peggy is concerned at the burden she’s placed on Lilian and Jennifer, and seems to suspect them of hatching some kind of plot. Jennifer tells her patronisingly to concentrate on getting better.
