• Brenda has exam nerves and the normally busy Tom plans to meet her afterwards – for a coffee ostensibly.
• Jennifer has been very busy selling strawberries at Farmers’ Market and Adam has persuaded Jazzer to do the roadside stall on his own, Ed being too busy. Jennifer also gets her first sight of Kasha – cute Kasha from Krakow – who is causing quite a stir. Jennifer sends Adam on a mission to try to smooth things over with Lilian.
• David admits to being taken by surprise about Tom’s engagement but offers his congratulations. He also suggests a display on the wetland scheme at the Brookfield Open Day, in addition to Tom’s burger van, of course.
• Lilian was surprised to find in the bank statement a petrol purchase in Carlisle on a day Matt said he was going to Birmingham. He is evasive, so Lilian fears the worst. When Adam visits, at least she has someone on whom to unload – but when he declares the motive of his visit Lilian digs her heels in; she doesn’t need Jennifer’s help.
• The exam was hard but not as bad as Brenda feared. But she is more upset that her dad is bringing Vicky to Bridge Farm tomorrow; she misses her mum and doesn’t really like Vicky. Tom has a diversion in mind; they are engaged, so it’s time to choose a ring. They decide on sapphires and it’s a beautiful ring.
