  • Matt makes and unusual to the Bull. It’s very quiet, a huge post Christmas slump. But Jolene isn’t in the mood for doing anything about it. She really feels for Elizabeth – she must feel like it’s not worth it. Just like Jolene does. Matt sounds interested to hear about how she feels.
  • Kenton tells Jolene how pleased he and Elizabeth were to see her at the funeral. It’s heart breaking at Lower Loxley at the moment.
  • Elizabeth is spending the day with her children. She will have to go back to work soon. Freddie seems to be worried that Camilla will inherit but she reassures him that it’s in trust for all of them. Lily seems to want to blame Nigel for going up on the roof and she tries to reassure her that it wasn’t his fault and that he still loves them. She takes the opportunity to ask them if they still want to do the Cathedral school exams and led by Lily, they both say they have to.
  • Kenton has an idea for the next promotion at the Bull. It’s Farmhouse Breakfast week in a fortnight’s time. They could offer full English using local produce etc. He’d help with the promotion and might even pitch in with the cooking.
  • Meanwhile Matt thinks closing the pub would make it a big new project for Amside. Lilian has said herself that Amside isn’t doing well. But Lilian is totally hostile. It’s not the money; everyone in Ambridge would hate her! Lilian doesn’t want to hear anymore about it but Matt still has plans and starts putting out feelers.
