  • As she serves Vicky in the shop, Susan tells Vicky that she’s got an interview for the office manager’s job. She asks if Brenda’s got one too, but Vicky doesn’t know.
  • Brenda calls at the dairy with the leaflet she’s designed. Mike thinks it’s just what they want, but they are interrupted by a very noisy Vicky, bearing glad tidings of Susan’s interview. Brenda doesn’t know what to say; Mike suggests giving them a call to see what’s happened. Vicky, meanwhile, has her sights set on tonight’s dance class.
  • Later, Mike calls on Brenda to suggest a few minor changes to the leaflet, and finds her very despondent. She did call the firm, who told her she hadn’t got an interview. Mike can’t understand it, but again their conversation is interrupted by Vicky, cross because Mike’s forgotten the time and they will be late for the Paso Doble class.
  • Helen arrives home to find Annette distressed and tired. She’s registered with a GP and made another appointment at the clinic, so it’s all sorted. To avoid any more pressure from Helen, Annette goes for a walk.
  • When Mike and Vicky arrive at their class, it’s already under way, and Vicky is furious. At last there’s a break, and Mike sweeps her onto the dance floor in an effort to avoid another row.
  • A worried Helen finds Annette on the Green, and tries again to make her change her mind. This time the emotional blackmail is hard to take and Annette becomes tearful. Again, Helen begs her to take more time and think it through.
