Mike still doesn’t understand Brenda’s objection to the lovely Vicky.
Radio Times:
Characters: Adam, Alistair, Brenda, Clarrie, David, Mike, Ruth, Susan, Vicky- Daz says Susan’s bowl was bought by a bit of a dude with a posh bird on his arm. Edward and Jazzer are going to look out for him at the next boot fair. Susan’s resigned to the bowl being lost.
- Mike’s talked with Clarrie and thinks he knows why Brenda’s upset. He calls round and explains he’s not trying to replace Betty. Brenda insists it’s not that, she can’t put it into words but Vicky’s not right for him. He resists blowing his top and says it’ll probably just take time.
- Vicky’s with Mike choosing wedding invitations. She hopes her mum and step-dad, with his funny little beard and shorts, won’t stay overnight. She doesn’t get on well with him. After agreeing there’s not many to invite to the registry office, she suggests fifty invites, Mike counters with twenty or thirty and they settle on forty. Mike says the proper honeymoon will have to wait till the end of summer when he can take time off. He fancies Bruges or Brussels. Vicky’s thinking beach, white sand, and palm trees.
- Susan tells Brenda that Sabrina Thwaite was wondering if it would be a double wedding. Brenda’s tirade is fierce and long. Shabby rush job, god-forsaken hour, one bride hogging the lime-light. Brenda would rather get married suspended upside down over a vat of sulphuric acid.
