Neil is impressed with how well Gem looks in Joe’s trap. Joe is clearly still concerned about what Nic said to him as she was dying.
Radio Times: Will loses his temper and Ruth offers a compromise
Characters: Joe, Neil, Pip, Ruth, Toby, William- Having encouraged Pip to enjoy her birthday present of a flight in a glider, Toby helps Ruth in the lambing shed. He seems to be taking a much bigger interest in the general farming activities at Brookfield
- Later on, Ruth is also encouraging Pip to take her flight. Pip is worried that she isn’t doing much at the farm, missing out on calving, and lambing. She is frightened that she will lose touch and forget how to be a farmer. Ruth dismisses this, as she has been brainwashed since birth to be a farmer. They are going to work together on the new parlour project.
- Outside the village shop, Toby bumps into Neil. They discuss Neil getting rid of his weaners. Toby agrees that it is a good little business. Is he thinking of taking them on?
- Joe is with Will at Greenwood Cottage, while Ed is busy fixing a loose downpipe. Will is angry at Joe that he made him leave Nic so he wasn’t there when she died. Will storms out but Ed tries to calm him down, but Will isn’t interested in his sympathy.
