Nigel gets labelling. Bert gets promotion. Jennifer gets good advice.
Radio Times: Bert gets a chance to prove his worth.
Characters: Adam, Alice, Bert, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Nigel- Stress levels are high at Home Farm. Adam’s worried about the weather affecting work on the farm, Alice is deep in revision, and Jennifer is still wound up over Brian and Siobhán.
- Nigel and Elizabeth watch Bert give his first guided tour. He’s acquired a few words of Japanese, but they’re so incomprehensible that Nigel suggests he leaves them out. Overall, they’re very impressed with Bert, and promote him to official tour guide. Bert is delighted.
- Jennifer breaks down in tears, and Adam tries to help her sort out her feelings. He reminds her of her own advice when he and Ian were going through a rough patch – leave room for compromise. Jennifer takes heed of his advice; if she never even sees Ruairidh, how can she make a decision?
- Lower Loxley wine has achieved official regional wine status, and Nigel can’t wait to start labelling their bottles.
- Jennifer broaches with Alice the possibility of going to Dublin. Unsurprisingly, Alice knows only too well that things between her parents are strained, and tells her mother it’s a good idea. She will be fine at Home Farm with Adam.
