No sign of a thaw in Helen’s attitude to her dad.

Radio Times: Nigel and Kenton are in a mischievous mood, and Lynda gives Helen food for thought.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • When Kenton bumped into Emma he thought she was a bit short on Christmas spirit – something to do with Nic being Clarrie’s blue-eyed girl. The photographs in The Echo have turned out well; even Elizabeth thinks so, though she is very pre-occupied with work. Nigel has an idea about that and arranges a rendezvous with Kenton.
  • Lynda has brought Oscar to Deck the Hall and brings Lewis up to speed on the panto rehearsals.
  • Elizabeth is amazed how quickly Kenton seems to be moving about; it’s almost as if there were two Rick Turnips.
  • At the rehearsal, attended by Oscar, Nigel wonders whether Fallon and Harry might be more than just friends.
  • Nigel is a bit late back from the rehearsal and Kenton is ready to put into action their cunning plan. No sooner has Elizabeth told him off for jumping out on her outside her bedroom than she finds a highwayman in her bed. Of course it’s Nigel who explains that he felt she was taking life too seriously.
  • Helen leaves a voicemail for Ian. She has come home to find the nursery finished. It’s lovely and he has even hung up the mobile in just the right spot. So thank you Ian but there is no sign of a thank you for dad.
