Oliver takes advice from Shula. Caroline is swept off her feet. Monty is in disgrace.
Radio Times: Shula plays fairy godmother.
Characters: Caroline, David, Josh, Oliver, Ruth, Shula- As David is setting off for the abattoir, he and Ruth are surprised to see Oliver. He shows them details of some pasteurising and bottling equipment he’s interested in, and then tells them the real reason for his visit; he and Caroline will be getting married two weeks tomorrow. Ruth and David are delighted.
- Caroline has lost no time either, though her rapture is somewhat more muted, as she tells Shula that Oliver’s proposal was rather like a business proposition between the grapefruit and the toast. She would have liked a bit more fairy-tale romance.
- When Caroline leaves, bossy Shula rings Oliver, and goes round to point out the error of his ways. A chastened Oliver takes her advice, and decides to make Caroline a more romantic proposal.
- Monty has disgraced himself by chewing up Josh’s Father’s Day card. Somehow Josh doesn’t seem quite as keen on Monty as he was, and happily puts the Muntjac out in his run.
- Caroline comes home to fairy lights in the garden, flowers, and a beautiful engagement ring. Oliver tells her how much he loves her, and says he hopes she will always look back on this evening as something special. I love you, too, she says, and I will remember this evening for the rest of my life.
