Pat fights her corner. Shula’s licking her wounds from the fight..

Radio Times: Pat and Tony have cause for optimism.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Kenton offers David some help on Farm Sunday. He also offers Kathy’s cake-making skills, but luckily for Kathy, Jill has already stocked the freezer.
  • As Pat drops an anniversary card round for Brian and Jennifer, she meets Adam, and has a major go at him over the anaerobic digester and Matt’s involvement. She’s surprised when Adam tells her how much he – and most of Ambridge – are appalled at Matt’s behaviour over the packhouse. Even Lilian is on their side.
  • Kenton calls on Shula, who is still upset at Alan’s attack the previous evening. She tells Kenton all about it; she’s convinced that it’s all rooted in the Richard Locke affair. If anyone else had spoken ouit, it would all have blown over by now.
  • Tony calls at Brookfield to thank David for putting him in touch with the consultant, who has been fantastic. He and Pat are feeling quite optimistic after his visit, and Tony’s off to buy a bottle of wine to celebrate. Adam tells them that Annabelle is seeing a consultant over the power connection for the digester. David wishes they had never got involved with Matt – he’s a loose cannon.
  • Tony and Pat open the bottle and comment that they have a wonderfully supportive family. Helen has done a lot to sway public opinion, and Tom’s done the milking for them. Not only that – Pat has heard that the digester has run into problems, and that’s done a lot to cheer her up.
