  • While Debbie goes to look at some dairy enterprises, Brian is anxious to get his hands on some figures for the BL board. Jennifer is more concerned about her mother. Peggy is spending all her time at The Laurels, where Jack has not settled well following his stroke.
  • Chris calls at Home Farm to ask a favour. He gets a fairly glacial welcome from his mother-in-law, but a much warmer one from Brian. Chris wants to borrow a candlestick which Alice likes, to make a modern copy for her. Meanwhile Alice is selling her clothes online, to Jennifer’s horror.
  • Elizabeth is at last able to drive again, and celebrates by taking Jill out for tea. Jill enjoys both the tea and the ambience, but is saddened by Elizabeth’s resolute avoidance of any mention of David, and indeed, by Elizabeth’s delight in Freddy’s keenness to go hunting.
  • The strain is starting to show as Peggy takes tablets for a headache, and refuses to stay for a meal at Home Farm. She thinks an early night is needed.
