Peggy’s staying at Home Farm but is keen to return home for Jack.
Radio Times: Peggy asserts her authority.
Characters: Adam, Jazzer, Jennifer, Joe, Neil, Peggy, Tom- Neil arrives with new organic weaners but Tom’s lagging behind putting up fences; he overslept, despite sleeping through last night’s film with Brenda.
- Jennifer can’t escape from Joe who’s touting up business for Friday’s Halloween extravaganza, her body’s the highlight. She’s off to pick up Peggy from hospital. Adam agrees to come in for lunch.
- Jennifer upsets Peggy at every turn, rushing to help opening car doors and putting on seat belts. Peggy makes clear again that she’s only staying for a few days.
- Jazzer arrives late, well satisfied customers take time, and he finds Gary has done the work and already left. Tom arrives and explains Brian thought Gary was absent minded and stared into space. Yes, he does, says Jazzer, but he’s very careful and gets the job done. Tom is niggled by the missing reference. Gary will be at Home Farm alone on Thursday; Jazzer’s day off.
- Peggy persists in her ‘it’s only a few days’ routine. Jennifer finally tells her to be realistic; it’ll be weeks before she’s well enough. Nonsense, says Peggy. She’s getting a taxi tomorrow to see Jack at this institution he’s been consigned too and she has to be back home for when he is released.
