Radio Times: Oliver decides to step down
Characters: Brian, Ian, Kate, Noluthando, Oliver, Phoebe, Roy- Kate hammers on Brian’s door in the morning demanding money. She wants at least £400 for their day trip to London. And it has to be cash. He gives her £300 by means of a bank transfer.
- Things are going really badly in Grey Gables restaurant. Gluten free isn’t happening and Brian even got the wrong starters. And the noise is getting very loud. It is all down to Joey. Oliver then turns up and doesn’t know why Brian is in the kitchen. Roy tries to calm things down while Oliver announces he is resigning from the Parish Council.
- Oliver was a bit disappointed with Italy. He talked to some agents but the villa was only three quarters finished so not much use to anyone. While he is talking to Roy, there is clearly a row in the restaurant with Joey causing major problems. Roy takes over to try to sort things out. He doesn’t expect to see Joey again.
- Kate is sulking on the train. She is knocking back the wine and Noluthando is sulking because she didn’t get any booze. Noluthando calls her on drinking non-vegan wine so Kate decides on a sleep.
- Phoebe is at Home Farm when they get back and they rush away. Kate doesn’t understand why Phoebe doesn’t want to talk to her. Then Brian sees all the bags that Kate has bought herself. This was supposed to be Noluthando’s day. Kate says she is entitled to treat herself and flounces out.
- Phoebe and Noluthando have a long talk. Noluthando feels totally tied down. She isn’t allowed anywhere on her own. Even Kate was interfering when they were shopping. Checking on her every minute. Phoebe tries to say it is the way parents are but Noluthando says she needs some space. Later, Phoebe and Roy chat. She says Noluthando isn’t very settled and isn’t happy with Kate. Phoebe thinks they are too alike – stubborn and unaware of other people’s feelings. Just when you don’t think it can get any worse there are two of them.
