Poacher turns gamekeeper.

Radio Times: Poacher turns gamekeeper.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Mike visits Grange Farm and leaves with Joe and Eddie thinking different thoughts.
    • He told Joe about Graham’s approach to Brookfield to buy land and Joe’s reaction changed from hostility to sense money when he realised that it might be the estate buying them out rather than removing them from their land. Later Joe asked Jill what sort of offer Graham had made – not that Jill knew.
    • He’s managed to wind Eddie around his little finger over the birds Eddie’s been luring away from Home Farm. When Eddie refused to give him any more, Mike turned to poaching them and when Eddie caught him, Mike offered Eddie a deal, he just gives them to him in future to save Mike telling Brian and having to skulk about taking them for himself. Unless Eddie wants to lose the birds entirely, he hasn’t many options.
  • Practicing starts for the fashion parade with Lynda in full choreographic swing, Larry (the compere) is busy doing panto rehearsals elsewhere and the models – especially Bert in his PJs, Joe without black shoes and Jill in something casual and tartan – aren’t all happy with their roles.
  • Shula and Alistair, very gently, open up negotiations about where they’ll live after the wedding – both seeming to think that they were all three going to live in their own house, Alistair pointing out that Glebe Cottage is quite small, Shula noting that this is where two of the three live already. One less thing to worry about though is that Jill seems to be on-side now and looking forward to the wedding.
