  • Ruth has slept so well that she failed to hear the boys go off to school. Jill offers her breakfast, but Ruth is not hungry. In her faint whispery voice, Ruth agrees that it might be nice to go and look at the bees.
  • Embarrassed after the adventures of last night, Fallon leaves Blossom Hill Cottage as quickly as she can. Rob is not exactly welcoming, when Helen says she can stay longer, and when Helen says he will give Fallon a lift to The Bull, Rob manages to hesitate just long enough for Fallon to realise that she has outstayed what little welcome was on offer. After she has gone, Rob asks quite aggressively what went on. Helen makes light of it, but when she mentions the club they visited and Fallon’s arrest, he sounds quite menacing. Helen turns the tables, asking what went on at the stag night, but Rob rushes off to work before she gets an answer.
  • As Fallon hammers at the door of The Bull, Tom comes past. He is surprised to see her still in her hen night outfit; Kirsty was back at 12.30. Fallon makes it clear that she is not in the mood for conversation, but then PC Burns turns up with Fallon’s purse, mentioning that she must have dropped it in the back of the police car. Tom is all ears at this, but Fallon claims it was just a misunderstanding. In her purse, however, and there for Tom to see is PC Burns’ card, with an invitation to contact him if she needs help.
  • Still using her whispery voice, Ruth comes with Jill to look at the bees, but suddenly says she must go and lie down.
  • Helen and Tom laugh about the card in Fallon’s purse, and Tom tells her he is trying to patch things up with Tony. He has also decided to inform Animal Health about the possible risk to his pigs. Helen asks him about their conversation on the night of the stag do; it sounded serious; was he thinking of calling off the wedding? Tom brushes her concern aside. If one thing is certain it has to be that he wants to marry Kirsty.
  • Anxiously, Jill knocks on Ruth’s bedroom door. Should she phone the doctor? It’s too late, says Ruth. She has lost too much blood, and almost certainly lost the baby.
