  • At last Pat sees Jack. Tony brings him from the mother and baby unit, and they take him for a walk in the park. Pat adores him, seeing a strong likeness to Dan in his face, but still manages some weeping and wailing as she realises it is his first outing in the real world.
  • Rob and Henry are celebrating father’s day with a ride on the Blackberry line – a perfect way for Rob to drip vitriol into Henry’s ears, reminding him that it is the very line that Mummy promised to take him on, but broke her promise and let him down. And, of course, conveniently failing to say that the reason that trip failed to take place was because Rob himself intervened to prevent it.
  • Anna tries to prevent Carol from trying to load the dishwasher, and a sharp exchange ensues as Anna has no wish to be there and Carol has no wish to be fussed over. Anna thinks a swim would help, but Carol points out that Kirsty is manageress at the pool, so that would be difficult. Anna opts for a run instead and when she returns, the air is somewhat clearer. Anna apologises for her crotchety remarks and Carol somewhat ungraciously accepts that Anna must stay as long as Carol’s arm is in plaster.
  • Henry greatly enjoys his ride on the steam train and hopes they might take Gideon on it soon. Cue more vitriol from Rob; this is much better than boring old Bridge Farm; Mummy won’t let us see Gideon; it’s very mean of Mummy to make Daddy feel so sad.
  • Tony is feeling more optimistic. Helen seems less shut inside herself, and the hearing is coming up. The fact that she is feeding Jack will surely help her case. Pat is happy that Jack is safe where Rob is not able to touch him.
  • As Rob puts Henry to bed he asks if Rob had a nice father’s day. It was the best replies Rob. Now go to sleep. Ursula then finds Rob in tears because he has not spent the day with Gideon. How could Helen do this just to hurt him, it is so cruel and calculating. She always wants her own way. Let’s wait and see says Ursula with menace.
