Roy hands a maiden over.
Radio Times: Roy hands a maiden over.
Characters: Betty, Clarrie, Kate, Mike, Roy, Shula- Ruth will be disappointed, Susan told Betty who’s busy telling Clarrie … when Shula walks into the shop. A quick change of topic and no obvious damage done! Kate’s the next visitor in the shop and Betty says how pleased she is that Baby is visiting – she loves kids! She’s not so sure about the current crop of possible names: Sky, Willow and Harvest! We have, at least, moved on from Ynys Witrun the original name of Glastonbury!
- Roy’s enjoying having Baby and, after a grouchy start, Mike’s pleased too. Until the doorbell rings and a couple of Kate’s friends drop off their infants at the creche! Mike’s not happy, although Betty mentions that it might be something she said! The evening as child-minding doesn’t go so swimmingly ….
- Shula drops off a steak cookbook to Clarrie ahead of her becoming gourmet chef to the Grey Gables’ pets. Apparently Caroline is not looking forward to it and things are not looking bright!
- Roy drops Baby off just before midnight, as arranged, and mentions the kids at home and Kate is amused and shocked. She’d mentioned Betty’s throwaway line on the phone and hadn’t meant to be taken literally. In the spirit of their newly refound bonhomie Roy says not to bother rushing back. He mentions the naming of the baby and, apparently, Kate has decided, although the naming ceremony is next week – she’s not forthcoming to Roy and he, elsewhere, wonders whether he should step in to stop anything too ridiculous occuring.
