Radio Times: The foreign tourist returns.

  • George is still having problems with getting sufficient beaters but, having mentioned it to Jack, a couple of phone calls later and the family makes up the numbers. Perhaps surprisingly, George seems happy with the idea of Marjorie, Shula, Lizzie, Nigel and Tommy beating for him! It does mean that he’s able to, like Greg before him, turn Eddie away because he doesn’t need him!
  • Peggy’s got manpower problems too. She’s having trouble interesting the youngsters of the village in the prospect of being models for the Underwoods fashion show. She’s going to have to convince Underwoods that they might want to consider targeting the show at the older generations.
  • Julia returns unexpectedly (but unsurprising has no English money with which to pay the cab that brought her all the way from Birmingham International Airport!) It seems that her love life (in the shape of Felix, “the serial philanderer”) is struggling and, while Lizzie’s not particularly amused (and, as Julia points out, Lizzie’s not pregnant, either), Nigel is pleased. She spies an invitation to Jennifer’s Millennium Wood Fund-raising dinner tomorrow, to which, inter alia, Jack and Peggy are attending, as well as Sir Sidney and Lady Mercedes Goodman, “old friends” of Julia’s. When Nigel says that he and Lizzie aren’t going (he’s bell-ringing!) she insists on taking up the invite!
