Radio Times: There is trouble in the tea interval.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Jennifer’s preparing for her big dinner party – and is wondering why she said yes to Julia. Brian, though, is off to Pat and Tony’s to go on their farm walk.
  • The walk is a soaraway success, over 60 people turn up, only Eric has escaped again and Tommy is charges with retrieving him while his parents are leading the visitors around the farm and preaching the organic gospel. Having searched high and low he fails to locate the porcine wanderer. Pat succeeds where her son fails though. Eric (and his new best mate Jet, Brookfield’s wandering sheepdog) are asleep in the Bridge Farm kitchen – where sandwiches for the 60 visitors had been! Pat is absolutely livid.
  • Julia is being her normal self, tactfully reassuring Jennifer that illegitimacy isn’t an issue any more and how terribly bohemian it is for the infant to have neither a first name nor a surname! She even drops hints that it might not be too long before she’s a grandmother too ….
  • Jennifer’s worried about the outcome of the dinner even more than the troubles with Julia, although Brian’s not worried, he’s confident that Sir Sidney will be only too willing to stump up the cash for the Millennium Wood.
