  • Brenda has handed Abbie over to Vicky: she wants Roy to get her into the ‘meet the farmer’ event at Grey Gables, though she doesn’t say why.

Adam had heard from Eddie about the soil problems at Brookfield and expresses surprise that Eddie had shown such fascination. David takes the opportunity to enlist Adam to pop in while he is on holiday, just to keep an eye on Eddie.
  • Meeting his solicitor, Matt is keen to know that the Dower House is safe as a home for Lilian while he is away. Russell assures him that he will not go down for ten years and as for Chalkie’s veiled threats he should ignore them – on no account make contact with him. They will soon get a full disclosure of what he has said, so Matt should stop worrying and sit tight. They need to attend the court again on Friday for more formalities.
  • The event went well and Caroline is keen to have more such. On which subject Brenda has something to say. She offers her CV and her services as a PR and marketing person. Caroline would like to take her on but cannot: she doesn’t have the money. But she will keep the CV.
  • On the way home, Brenda explains to Roy that Tom wants her to go back to working the burger van and Roy thinks she should swallow her pride and take the work offered. When she has another rant about Vicky becoming dad’s business partner, Roy puts her firmly in her place: they are married now and she must not take her problems out on Vicky.
