Ruth still thinks David isn’t committed. Susan is convinced she needs to cook curry for Nisha’s visit on Thursday.

Radio Times: Bert finds himself at a loose end.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Bert is clearly running out of things to do and is now pestering Susan in the village shop. He certainly doesn’t want to make himself unwelcome by hanging around at Brookfield. He’s also not impressed to hear how well Robert is doing with his handyman business. Then Christopher appears announcing he is bringing Nisha to tea on Thursday – and she is a vegetarian!
  • The triplets are growing well and will be in with the other calves soon. People are still talking about the Echo piece and Adam is pleased they plugged Hassett Hills lamb. Ruth is still pressing to take over the herd but David is making it clear he isn’t keen and doesn’t want to talk about it.
  • Christopher is Bert’s next victim. And then he find Robert again – surely the downpipe isn’t quite straight. But then Bert finds the whole morning has gone and he was only going to spend 10 minutes…. Susan turns up to ask Robert for a curry recipe to serve to Nisha for Thursday’s tea. But she can only have it on condition that she never again tells Bert where Robert is working.
  • Ruth complains to Usha that David is showing no sign of being interested in her taking over the herd and is sidelining her to the office. Usha tries to stay positive by saying that if he hasn’t said no he’s just buying himself thinking time. Ruth thinks though, that he just doesn’t trust her anymore. And they still aren’t talking. Usha decides it’s time for Ruth to have some time away – they will go out together next week. But then Susan appears, needing to get her hands on a tamarind!
